I learned recently that Deal or No Deal Island was cancelled. Season 1 was good but it was season 2 that really got me. As I said previously

“It's almost [unbelievable] that a Deal or No Deal spinoff show has become a genuinely great competition watch. Season 2 introduced me to probably my favorite reality contestant of all time (golden god DG!), delivered some legendary moments from Parvati, and capped it all off with a wild finale that included a surprise jury twist that brought some incredibly satisfying justice. Honestly, just such a fun ride.”

Total bummer, but also… lol. Because the rumor is that David won too much money and they couldn’t afford to produce it anymore. Can you imagine?

As a side note: The amount of you who responded to my last email with poetry that almost, but didn’t quite, rhyme? So rude.

Broken Country (Clare Leslie Hall)

When a gunshot reunites Beth with the man who broke her heart, the quiet life she's built starts to unravel — along with some dangerous secrets.

This one immediately sucked me in with it’s Far From the Madding Crowd vibes. I spent the first third of the book trying to figure out where the similarities started and ended, before just giving in to the wild ride of the plot. As book club friend Tara T puts it: “Somehow it was devastating and heartwarming all at the same time.”

Last One Laughing UK

A group of comedians are locked in a room together and compete to be the last one who hasn't laughed.

I guess I’m all in on UK panel shows these days. And this one is full of Taskmaster faves! It's hilarious to see the simplest, silliest things make these comedians completely lose it.

What show have you been sad to see cancelled?

  • Trashie. Seems like a solid alternative to a Goodwill donation that's just going to end up in a landfill anyway. 🗑️

  • Shark Flex Fusion. I wish my $25 hairdryers were this good, but the fact that I can dry and straighten my long, curly, thick hair in 15 minutes is unreal. And Amazon has been running some deals, so keep an eye out. It’s a worthy investment. 💈

  • Kinetic Sand Construction Kit. Kinectic sand has been a long-lasting sensory toy in our house. We love these little kits that spark different ways to play. 🚧
