Think about your dumb face all the time

Sleep vacations, The Corporate Trail, rain boots, etc...

I’ve been mulling a lot on kids’ activities as of late. The can be so expensive, but every parent wonders: Are they missing out if we don’t sign them up? We’ve found some workarounds, like DIY piano and swim lessons that we’ve been happy with. And, in general, my homebody kids would probably rather play around the house. But I also don’t want them to miss out on friendship opportunities. So how much should we push? How do we balance enrichment with simplicity and schedule sanity? There’s probably a book I could read about this…

How does your family manage kid activities?

  • The Corporate Trail. Take 5 minutes and see if you can survive corporate America. My success rate is about 50% (and would probably be lower in real life). 🚂

  • My Swim Guide. The price of swim lessons made my eyes pop out of my head so I decided to try teaching my boys myself. We’ve followed the lessons on this website with some good success! 🏊️

  • Yarn Holder. Even with being new to crochet I knew this tool would make my life easier. There’s some prettier wooden versions but I’ve been happy with this budget friendly option. 🧶

  • Rain boots. Not just for kids! I love having a slip on option for rainy days, and you can easily add a thick sock for lower temperatures. I highly recommend picking a fun color or pattern. 🥾
