Shoutout to country music this year, which made me feel like it was 2010 and I was back at my first job at the local ice cream/coffee shop. I think discovering all these while enjoying the neighborhood pool helped, but even now that it is pushing winter I’m still pretending the days are long and scanning the radio for “Holy Smokes,” “Happen to Me,” “Single Again,” “Weren’t for the Wind”… what a year!

Recession Proof Side Hustles. I mean, one of these is my full-time job. But that’s cool. 🤑

 The Impossible Fortune by Richard OsmanI’m embarrassed to admit I got a little weepy to be back with these characters again, especially with how book 4 ended. The 5th installment did not disappoint, each character felt 100% themselves and I loved them for it. I also found the plot easier to follow than some of the other installments, but still mysterious enough to keep me wondering. |  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Movie)I’m still deep in the comfort movies, and it doesn’t get much cozier than this. As we read through the books my oldest says “I just want them to have a normal year so I can see what it’s like to learn magic” and I kind of get it. Movie 1 has a bit more of this normalcy, and is a warm intro into this beloved world. |
What’s your song of the year?
Bonne Maman Advent Calendar. I just started year 2 of advent calendars in November and though I considered other options, I knew nothing would feel as luxurious as this classic. 🎁
Gloves. I bust through the fingers of my gloves every year but I’m really hoping these last a bit longer. If not I’ve got a set a three to work through. 🧤
Pilot G2 Pens. I’m open to suggestions but really can’t find a better pen than this. 🖋️
