Am I wrong for thinking out the box from where I stay?

Puppy, Winnie the Pooh, safety eyes, etc...

We got a puppy! A little impulsively. Kind of. We did a little research and seemed to land on the right breed for us then, just a few days later, a local breeder had our little guy leftover available with a discount. It felt like a whirlwind decision and I was ready for disaster. But it’s been surprisingly okay! He sleeps through the night, figured out potty training within a week or so, plays when we want to play, and naps when we’re busy. My littlest loves running around with him, and the rest of us are soaking up the snuggles and taking advantage of the excuse to go on more walks. So far so good!

  • State Tax Cuts. Even those light color states look pretty good. 🤑

  • Best Newsletters. I’m not on this list (rude), but if you must read another newsletter you couldddd consider some of these. I guess… Nevermind, just keep yourself here. 📧

  • Workcation. Twist my arm why don’t you. 🗺️

  • Low-key Self Comfort. These are lovely. One way I bring a little joy to my life is flavored water. It makes me want to keep hydrated instead of trying to force myself into it. 🕯️

Thursday Murder Club Movie

This film did not quite master the twisty, witty brilliance of the book series (which you absolutely should read if you haven’t yet, the fifth is out so soon!), but it had a familiar, cozy feel due to Harry Potter director Chris Columbus. The mystery itself felt a little too easy, a little too spelled out. But as a comfort film it totally delivered. And the cast is still incredible!

Winnie the Pooh Movie

When my oldest missed the entire second week of school thanks to illness, his first movie request surprised me: Winnie the Pooh. I thought he had outgrown that era. But there’s something timeless about those stories, especially when a newer version keeps the heart of the original but layers in just enough humor to keep the whole family watching. We both enjoyed many hours of this while he recovered at home.

  • Church Cookbook. Am I about to change your life? This spring I collected the best of the best recipes from our culinary church ladies. Every recipe I’ve tried has been a hit! 🍲

  • Safety Eyes. I don’t know why I held out on buying safety eyes for so long with all the stuffed animals I’ve been making. They’re so cute and easy! Though having a box full of eyes sit around the house is a little creepy. 👀

  • Flashlights. Do you think if I bought something higher quality I wouldn’t need to replace these every few years? It doesn’t matter, my kids would lose them anyways. 🔦

  • Dog Harness. I remember yanking so hard on my poor dog’s collar growing up. This makes walks so much easier. 🦮
